Credit union alleges car buyer owes more than $26,000

GRETNA – A credit union is suing a car loan customer, alleging he owes more than $26,000.

Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union filed a lawsuit Jan. 18 against Roubin J. Maise Jr. in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging failure to pay off a balance owed.

According to the claim, Maise purchased a 2014 Toyota Rav 4, making an agreement to pay off the balance of $26,767.64, plus interest accrued. The suit says Maise has failed to pay off the balance.

Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Blake E. Oakes of The Oakes Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright.
