University alleges student owes more than $2,000

GRETNA – A university is suing a student, alleging she owes more than $2,000.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through University of New Orleans, filed a suit Feb. 17 against Dejanae Shantae Howard in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the claim, the university issued goods and or services to Howard for the spring 2015 semester, a value of $2,150.58. The suit states Howard has failed to pay off the balance owed.

The University of New Orleans seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is is represented by assistant state attorney Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner, Jr.
