Resident alleges poor care at assisted living facility

NEW ORLEANS – A resident is suing a New Orleans nursing home facility, alleging poor care.

Jaime Santos Paiz filed a lawsuit Feb. 20 against Uptown Healthcare Center LLC, Bob Dean Enterprises in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligent care of a resident.

According to the complaint, Paiz was a resident of Uptown Healthcare Center in December 2016 when he was neglected by the center's staff, resulting in an overall breach of the standard of care. According to the suit, no actions have been taken to remedy the situation.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly care for patients, failing to care for the facilities and overall negligence in the standard of care.

Paiz seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. He is represented by attorney J. Michael Daly Jr. of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
