NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana man alleges his Texas-based employers did not pay him the appropriate rate for overtime work.

Kenneth Singletary filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Coryell County Tradesmen LLC and CC Labor LLC alleging that they willfully violated the Fair of Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was hired by the defendants as a metal stud framer and dry wall hanger in October 2014. The plaintiff holds Coryell County Tradesmen LLC and CC Labor LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly never paid plaintiff proper overtime compensation for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for all unpaid overtime wages, plus liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and costs, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and such other general and equitable relief. He is represented by Daniel B. Davis and Randall E. Estes of Estes Davis Law LLC in Baton Rouge.
