A couple claims that a poor installation damaged their home

GRETNA – A Metairie couple is suing a water filtration installer, alleging a botched job.

Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange, as subrogee of James and Lynn Brooks, filed a suit March 2 against Huli Walters LLC, doing business as The Water Company: Wellness Water Co., in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the Brookses own property at 222 Sycamore Drive, Metairie. The suit states The Water Company installed a water filtration system in the kitchen sink at the plaintiffs' home but that the system stopped functioning properly in March 2016, causing major damages to the Brooks' property.

The defendant is accused of negligently failing to properly install the system, failing to ensure that it was functioning and overall negligence.

The Brookses seek all reasonable damages, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by attorney Jake Skaggs of Cozen O'Connor in Houston.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
