New Orleans Redevelopment Authority sues over blighted property

NEW ORLEANS – A man allegedly failed to keep an agreement with the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority for the rehabilitation of a property.

The authority filed a lawsuit March 6 against Lester Dell in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff entered into an act of case sale with the defendant on Jan. 13, 2012. The suit states that the defendant was required to keep a number of terms, including paying fees and maintaining the property at 3027 Second St. in New Orleans. The defendant has allegedly failed to keep up with the terms of the agreement.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Victoria Hines of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette Irons.
