Bank seeks damages over overdue promissory note

GRETNA – U.S. Bank N.A. is seeking damages for an unpaid promissory note.

The bank, which is successor trustee to LaSalle Bank National Association, on behalf of the holders of Bear Stearns asset-backed securities 1 Trust 2006-AQ1, filed a suit against James Phillips and Coreka Riley Phillips in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging sums due on a mortgage contract.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is the holder of a promissory note for the balance of $116,000. The suit states that the defendants failed to pay off the balance of the note and are still indebted to the plaintiff for $103,813.22 plus interest and fees.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Rader Jackson of Jackson & McPherson LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Nancy A. Miller.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 769992.
