Community college files suit over student's course fees

NEW ORLEANS – A community college is seeking damages for an open account, alleging a student owes fees for instruction.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System, through Delgado Community College, filed a lawsuit March 13 against Kendrick Miles in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued services to the defendant. The defendant has failed to pay the plaintiff for the services rendered and is indebted to the plaintiff for $1,139.44.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Meghan Beal of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin Giarrusso.
