Orleans Parish woman claims partially collapsed handrail caused injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that a defective handrail caused her to be injured.

Angela Howard filed a lawsuit against Terrance Howard in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is a resident of Orleans Parish. The suit states that on Oct. 31, the plaintiff was at the defendant's apartment at 3526 South Tonti St., New Orleans, when the incident occurred. The plaintiff was injured when the handrail collapsed partially.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to maintain the property, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Peter M. Meisner in River Ridge.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
