NEW ORLEANS – Three passengers allege they were injured in a collision between two vessels on the Pearl River.

Leticia Keiger, Ricardo Perez and Ignacio Perez filed a complaint on March 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America, XL Specialty Insurance Co. Tray Nobles and William "Billy" Mofield alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 6, 2016, they were passengers on the M/V Sasquatch, captained by Nobles. The suit states because of the inattentiveness of Nobles and Mofield, who was captain of the M/V Gator Bait IV, the two vessels collided and the plaintiffs were injured.

The plaintiffs hold Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America, XL Specialty Insurance Co., Nobles and Mofield responsible because Nobles and Mofield allegedly failed to maintain a proper lookout and negligently traveled at an excessive rate of speed for the circumstances.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek all damages reasonable in the premises, all costs of this proceeding with prejudgment interest and all other general and equitable relief. They are represented by Robert W. "Doc" Booksh Jr. of John Fox & Associates LLC in New Orleans.
