Parents claim their son was mistreated at Sylvanie Williams College Prep

NEW ORLEANS – Parents claim that their son was treated improperly at school.

Iesha Randall and Melvin Bailey individually and on behalf of their minor child filed a lawsuit April 6 against ABC Insurance Co., Christopher Bernard, New Orleans College Preparatory Academies, Sylvanie Williams College Prep and Krystal Hardy Allen in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the child who was a student at Sylvanie Williams. The suit states that the child had purchased a ticket to a school dance for $1 but was told that he was not allowed to attend. When he asked for him money back, the suit states that Bernard began to harass the student. The defendant allegedly grabbed child and restrained him, using excessive force.

The defendant is accused of failing to treat the student properly, using excessive force and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Christopher H. Sherwood of the Law Offices of Warren A. Forstall Jr. LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Melvin Zeno.
