Woman alleges $50,000 worth of repairs to her home weren't completed

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages for an unfulfilled work contract.

Antoinette B. Talbott filed a lawsuit April 5 against Patrick LaRive in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff entered into a verbal agreement with the defendant. The terms of the agreement said that the plaintiff would pay the defendant to complete repairs to her property. Despite the plaintiff paying $50,000, the defendant has failed to complete the work as agreed upon.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by Halima Narcisse Smith of the Law Office of Halima Narcisse Smith LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
