Disaster Recovery Unit seeks repayment of home elevation funds from Jefferson Parish man

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is being sued for allegedly misusing government funding.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 24 against Randal A. Gonzalez in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff gave the defendant $30,000 to use toward the elevation of his home. The suit states that the defendant allegedly failed to use the sums as they were intended. The plaintiff seeks repayment of all sums.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771298.
