Law money 10

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish man alleges that his former Gretna employer only paid his regular rate of pay for overtime work.

Kevin King filed a complaint on April 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against CHL Inc. and Hoa Kevin Tran alleging that the event planning services providers violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was employed by the defendants from 2005 to March 2017 and sometimes worked more than 100 hours in a single workweek. The plaintiff holds CHL Inc. and Tran responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums for the extra hours worked and unilaterally reduced hours from plaintiff's electronic timesheet.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order allowing this case to proceed as a collective action, award of all unpaid wages, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, costs and all further relief as may be just and proper. He is represented by Charles J. Stiegler of Stiegler Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.
