Orleans Parish woman seeks damages after tripping over electrical cord

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman was allegedly caused to trip and fall on an electrical cord.

Stephanie Hunt filed a lawsuit May 12 against Triumph Housing Management LLC, Tudor Square Apartments LLC and XYZ Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was residing at the address of 3011 Milan St., New Orleans. The suit states that the plaintiff's walker became entangled in an extension cord that the defendants installed in her kitchen, causing her to fall and suffer numerous injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to remove the cord, failing to warn of the danger and negligence of management.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney John J. Sullivan in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
