NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man claims that solar panels caused damages to his home.

Brian Williams filed a lawsuit May 15 against Posigen LLC, doing business as Posigen Solar Solutions, and Rebirth Energy Solutions LLC, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was in a lease agreement with the defendant on May 16, 2016, for the installation of solar panels at his home. The suit states that the plaintiff was led to believe that he would see savings on his energy bill with the new panel; however, the plaintiff claims he has not seen any improvements in pricing and has noticed damages to his home. Despite informing the defendant of the alleged damages and other wrongs caused, the plaintiff claims he has not been compensated.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. He is represented by Jacques A. Massey in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Cherrell S. Taplin.
