NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was filmed naked while having surgery.
Comma Selitha Jones filed a lawsuit May 22 against Dr. Alireza Sadeghi, The Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Center LLC and Uptown Plastic Surgery Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging invasion of privacy.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a survivor of breast cancer and decided to have surgery for the reconstruction of her breasts. The suit states that the plaintiff was a patient of the defendant March 6, 2015, when the incident occurred. The defendant allegedly took video of the plaintiff, naked, while she was unconscious. The defendant then allegedly sent the footage to his friends, causing extreme invasion of the plaintiff's privacy and exposure of her.
The defendant is accused of invasion of privacy, infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress and overall negligence.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Inemesit U. O'Boyle of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Griffith, Stakelum & Hayes LLP in Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.
