Jefferson Parish man claims that standard of care was breached

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is seeking damages, claiming that he should have been treated for hepatitis C but was not.

Wilmer Crist filed a suit May 8 against Maison Deville of Harvey LLC and Lakeshore Hospice Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was discharged from Ochsner Westbank in June 2014. The suit states that the defendant had suffered hepatitis C when discharged and was caused health damages which lessened his quality of life, due to not being properly or fully treated during his time in the care of the defendant.

The defendant is accused of negligence and medical malpractice for failing to take the appropriate steps to ensure the wellbeing and care of the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John D. Sileo in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 772582.
