IberiaBank seeks more than $30,000 for home equity loan

GRETNA – A bank is seeking damages for an unpaid line of credit.

IberiaBank filed a suit June 2 against Denis E. Vega of Jefferson Parish in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due on a HELOC note.

According to the claim, the plaintiff issued the defendant a home equity line of credit, but the defendant has failed to pay the account off. The defendant is currently indebted to the plaintiff for $30,395.

The defendant is accused of sums due on the note.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert A. Mathis of Newman, Mathis, Brady & Spedale in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
