EMW Insight claims Gretna Plaza failed to complete closing on property

Contract 06

GRETNA – A company is seeking damages, claiming that the seller of a property wrongfully failed to complete the closing.

EMW Insight LLC filed a suit June 9 against Gretna Plaza LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, Daniel Khong, the sole member of EMW, made an offer to purchase the defendant's property at 1650 Gretna Blvd. in Harvey for $1.59 million. The suit states that the manager of the property agreed to the sale for $1.64 million. Despite securing financing for the property and communicating with the defendant, the plaintiff was unable to close because the defendant allegedly failed to be present at the scheduled location and time of the closing.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract by failing to complete the purchase agreement.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Elise M. Henry of Steeg Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
