GRETNA – Two Jefferson Parish residents claim their home's structure was damaged due to negligence.

Brad Mancuso and Chrystan Mancuso filed a suit June 20 against Budget Plumbing LLC and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, the defendant was contracted April 13, 2015, to install a replacement pipe at 5020 Cleveland Place, Metairie. The suit states that the defendant dug around the house's foundation to complete the job but failed to backfill the excavated areas. The defendant's failure caused the foundation of the home to be damaged due to water collection, the complaint states.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to complete the work as contracted.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Vincent Impastato of Fischhertz & Associates in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
