Woman alleges she was sexually harassed while working at Big Easy Blends

Wrongful term 04

NEW ORLEANS – A former worker of a New Orleans company that manufactures and sells pouched drinks alleges she was terminated after reporting sexual harassment.

Gabrielle Gaines filed a complaint on June 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Big Easy Blends LLC and Jose Nobre alleging sexual harassment, defamation and sexual assault and battery.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was employed by a staffing agency in April 2016 and assigned to work for Big Easy Blends. The suit states that Nobre was her supervisor and engaged in inappropriate behavior toward her, including touching. She alleges she reported the behavior and was discharged in June 2016.

The plaintiff holds Big Easy Blends LLC and Jose Nobre responsible because the defendants allegedly subjected plaintiff to sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation by terminating her employment for filing a complaint.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general, special and punitive damages; plus legal interest; costs and attorney's fees and such other relief as justice may require. She is represented by Frank E. Lamothe III and Richard Martin Jr. of Lamothe Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.
