Couple seeks payment of $33,000 from Homebuyers Advance for overpaid mortgage

NEW ORLEANS – A couple is seeking repayment of an overpaid mortgage.

Joyce La France Jackson wife of/and Melvin Lee Jackson filed a lawsuit June 27 against Homebuyers Advance LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract. 

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are seeking payment of $33,000. The suit states the defendant failed to inform the plaintiffs they had overpaid on a mortgage and the plaintiffs are seeking the return of the overpaid money.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Michael A. Britt in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
