NEW ORLEANS – A man alleges he was injured while working aboard a fixed platform in the Gulf of Mexico.
James Derrick III filed a complaint on June 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Superior Energy Services LLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 21, 2016, he was injured while working on a fixed platform operated by Fieldwood Energy LLC and was in the course and scope of his employment with defendant. He alleges he sustained serious injuries his lower back, knee and other parts of his body that necessitated multiple surgeries.
The plaintiff holds Superior Energy Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a safe area of work.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, special and general damages; together with legal interest; costs; expert fees and all other equitable relief. He is represented by Timothy J. Young, Tammy D. Harris and Megan C. Misko of The Young Law Firm in New Orleans.
