Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union accuses man of failing to make payments on promissory note

GRETNA — A credit union is seeking more than $27,000 in past due payments.

Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union, formerly known as Jefferson Financial Credit Union, filed a complaint on March 8 in the 24th Judicial District Court against James R. Smith, alleging that the defendant failed to make payments on a promissory note.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for the past due amount on a note for the amount of $27,048.41 and interest. The defendant has allegedly not made payments since December 2016.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joseph M. Mouton II of D'Aquila, Contreras & Vega in Kenner.
