Jefferson Parish man claims exposed wire caused him to fall

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man claims an exposed wire caused him to trip and fall.

Eddie Fountain filed a suit against Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC, doing business as AT&T Louisiana, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on June 20 at 700 Gladstone Drive, Gretna. The suit states that the plaintiff tripped and fell on a wire that belonged to the defendant.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to warn of the danger, failing to remove the wire and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Matthew A. Sherman of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes LLP in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
