Jefferson Parish man claims Walmart cooler collapsed on his hand

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man claims a cooler collapsed on his hand in Walmart.

Robert Gordon filed a suit against Walmart Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that occurred Sept. 27, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was at the Walmart at 4810 Lapalco Blvd. in Marrero when he was allegedly injured by a collapsing drink cooler that he reached into. The cooler allegedly fell on his hand and caused damages to him physically.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to properly maintain the store and failing to warn of danger.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Olga V. Fofanova of Dudley Debosier PLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
