Man claims he was injured in fall at Family Dollar Store

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages for a slip and fall in a dollar store.

Christopher Urich filed a suit against Family Dollar Stores of Louisiana Inc. and ABC Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the Family Dollar Store at 3615 Jefferson Highway, Jefferson, on July 28, 2016, when the incident took place. The plaintiff claims he slipped and fell on a substance that had been left on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to exercise the appropriate level of care in management, failing to clean up the mess, failing to warn of the danger associated with the spill and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott A. Decker of the Law Offices of Scott A. Decker LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
