Woman claims she broke her teeth on a burger at Burger King

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages, claiming she broke her teeth after eating at a Burger King.

Nicole Edwards filed a suit against John Doe, Strategic Restaurants Acquisition Co. LLC, doing business as Broadspire Services Inc., doing business as Burger King Corp., and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Aug. 30, 2016, at the Burger King at 8108 Airline Drive, Metairie. The suit states that the plaintiff was eating a cheeseburger when she broke two teeth on a stone that had been in the burger. The defendant's employee had allegedly not worn gloves while preparing the burger, which led to the contamination.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Meagan Smith of the Law Office of Miguel A. Elias in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
