Woman claims she was injured when Jimmy John's delivery bicyclist struck her

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is seeking damages, claiming she was struck by a bicyclist and was injured.

Edith Cruz filed a lawsuit against The Hanover Insurance Co.; Macbuzz Enterprises LLC, doing business as Jimmy John's Sandwiches; Blue Boiler Cats VI LLC, doing business as Jimmy John's Sandwiches; and Veronica King in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was on the sidewalk in front of the Jimmy John's at 7621 Maple St. in New Orleans on Sept. 6, 2016, when a delivery person on a bike hit her. She claims she was seriously injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence, failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to drive the bike responsibly.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by Lloyd N. Frischhertz of Frischhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
