Couple claims child was injured after falling from second-story balcony

NEW ORLEANS – A couple is seeking damages after their child fell from a second-story balcony.

Carey Jones and Karen Washington, individually and on behalf of their minor child, filed a lawsuit against HRC Investments LLC and Endurance Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Aug. 27. The suit states that the plaintiffs were at their New Orleans apartment when their child fell through the second-floor balcony railing and sustained injuries. The plaintiffs claim the balcony was missing a baluster.

The defendants are accused of negligence by failing to maintain the property and failing to warn of danger.

The plaintiffs seek all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. They are represented by attorney Perry W. Manning Sr. of the Law Office of Perry W. Manning Sr. in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
