Woman claims she slipped, fell at Wynhoven Healthcare Center facility

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for an incident that took place at an assisted-living center.

Mary Acklin filed a suit against Wynhoven Healthcare Center and Catholic Mutual Group in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Aug. 31, 2016, while visiting a resident of the assisted-living community. The suit states that the plaintiff suffered a fractured ankle after slipping on a substance left on the floor the dining area of the facility.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to provide a safe location or warn of danger.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Gregory M. Thompson in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
