University of New Orleans seeks over $2,000 from former student

GRETNA – A university is seeking damages for an open account.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a suit Sept. 25 against Lana M. Cristina in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging she has an open account.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking payment of $2,166.85 plus interest for tuition and fees for the spring 2013 semester.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
