Jefferson Parish woman accused of owing over $2,500 to university

GRETNA – A university is seeking damages for an open account.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a suit against Sarah Kim Cabali in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking payment of $2,745.30 plus interest, claiming that the defendant, a Jefferson Parish resident, has failed to pay for attending the university in the spring 2010 semester.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
