University of New Orleans seeking past due tuition

GRETNA – The University of New Orleans is seeking to recover more than $1,000 in unpaid tuition. 

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a suit on Sept. 18 against Claudia Marbella Mealer in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging she owes $1,098.25 plus interest. The suit states that the defendant has failed to make the necessary payments for attending the plaintiff's institution in the spring of 2013.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Meghan N. Beal of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
