Man trying to collect on $61,500 promissory note

GRETNA –A man claims that he was not paid back for more than $60,000.

Derrick Shepherd filed a suit on Dec. 5 against Mel's Transportation II LLC and Melissa M. Falls in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging failure to pay.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking sums due after the defendants failed to pay off a promissory note that the plaintiff issued. The defendants are indebted to the plaintiff in the sum of $61,500.

The defendans are accused of negligence through failing to pay back a promissory note.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by The Law Offices of Jon S. McGill LLC in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
