Medication supplier claims assisted living center breached contract

GRETNA – A medication supplier claims it was defamed by being accused of endangering residents at an assisted living home.

Branch Med Pass LLC filed a suit Dec. 28 against Atrium Assisted Living in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging breach of contract and defamation.

According to the claim, the plaintiff entered into contracts with 43 residents of Atrium Assisted Living for medication dispensing. Due to no fault of the plaintiff, the defendant terminated the contracts, claiming they posed a threat to the residents living at Atrium. Additionally, the plaintiff was prohibited from coming on the premises of the defendant's property.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract and defaming the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Nghana Lewis Gauff in LaPlace.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle Taylor.
