Man claims he was injured in broken chair purchased at Home Depot

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, claiming a chair purchased at Home Depot broke and caused him to fall.

Harley Clint Waguespack filed a suit Dec. 29 against Home Depot USA Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 3, 2017. The suit states the defendant sold the plaintiff a chair in 2015 that collapsed on the date of the incident and caused the plaintiff injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to take proper care for the safety of customers.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Bradford H. Walker in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 779104.
