Employee says she was burned while brewing tea at work

GRETNA – A woman claims that she was injured at work when a brewing system burned her.

Diane Brown filed a suit Jan. 12 against Southern Visions LLP, dba Sweet Brew Tea and Sugar Co., in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Jan. 13, 2017 when the plaintiff was working at the Heads & Tails Seafood and Oyster Bar. The suit states that the plaintiff was using the defendant's system to prepare iced tea when the machine malfunctioned, causing the plaintiff serious burns.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Patrick R. Jackson in Bossier City.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 779565.
