GRETNA – A woman claims that she was caused to slip and fall at a health center.
Erin Ryan filed a suit on Jan.19 against Seaside Healthcare LLC, d/b/a Seaside Behavioral Center, XYZ Corporation, Medical Protective Company and John Doe in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.
According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 20, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff was a patient at the defendant's facility when she was caused to slip and fall on a puddle of water that had been left on the ground.
The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger or to properly clean up the hazard.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by J. Casey Cowley of Casey Cowley LLC in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
