Woman says she fell in home after warning landlord of danger

GRETNA – A woman claims that she was injured in a rental property.

Karen Bush filed a suit Feb. 14 against Luke Gross Sr. and Mae C. Gross in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place at the property of 8611 Milan St. in Metairie, which the plaintiff was renting from the defendant. The plaintiff complained of a defective railing on the staircase but the defendant failed to remedy the situation. The plaintiff was caused injury on Jan. 15, 2018 when she was caused to trip and fall due to the defect.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Gardner & Steib in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry Sullivan Jr.
