City of Westwego accused of negligence after technicians allegedly dropped stretcher

GRETNA — A man claims that emergency medical technicians dropped his stretcher.

Christopher Caldwell filed a suit on April 16 in the 24th Judicial District Court against the City of Westwego, the City of Westwego EMS, Ashley Mason and Daniel Mason, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on April 15, 2017 when he allegedly fell off a roof while assisting a friend. When the defendants arrived to help him into an ambulance, Ashley and Daniel Mason allegedly dropped the stretcher that he was on and fell on top of him, which allegedly caused him to sustain a great deal of pain.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Pierre F. Gaudin in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
