Woman says she was injured by falling hoses in a Walmart

GRETNA – A woman claims that she was injured in a Walmart when hoses fell on her.

Karen Fallon filed a suit April 19 against Walmart Inc in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on May 10, 2017 when the plaintiff was in the Walmart at 5110 Jefferson Highway in Jefferson Parish. The suit states the plaintiff was caused injury when four 50-foot hoses fell from a shelf above her and struck her.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure the store was safe for customers, and failing to warn of falling items.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Pedro Galeas of The Galeas Law Corp. in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee Faulkner Jr.
