GRETNA – A woman claims she was injured when she tripped on a buckled floor in her apartment.

Stacy Frisco filed a suit April 18 against Guffrias Suites LLC, Omar Hamide, Glenn Theriot, T C Electrical Contractors LLC, ABC Insurance Co., and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on May 12, 2016 when the plaintiff was a tenant of Giuffrias Suites LLC. The suit states the plaintiff's apartment began to flood, and the plaintiff's carpet was destroyed. The lawsuit claims that on May 13, 2016, Theriot laid down new floors at the apartment but on Sept. 22, 2016, the plaintiff's floor began to separate. The plaintiff claims the defendant failed to repair the buckled board and on July 9, 2017, the plaintiff tripped and fell and had to receive medical treatment.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain the property in a safe manner and failing to warn the plaintiff of dangers.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert Evans III of Evans Law in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy Miller.
