GRETNA – A woman claims a facial peel rendered her face swollen and red.

Gina Pieri filed a suit April 23 against Earth Savers Inc., dba Earthsavers; Jane Doe; and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Nov. 22, 2017 when the plaintiff went to the defendant's for a facial. The lawsuit states the plaintiff was given a cinnamon mask, but was not informed that it was a cinnamon enzyme peel. The plaintiff began to suffer redness and swelling, but as it was the Thanksgiving holiday she was not able to contact the defendant. When the plaintiff finally reached the defendant, they gave her some creams for her skin. Still, the plaintiff's skin was red and swollen during her daughter's wedding, making it not only physically painful but emotionally embarrassing.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Aaron Marles of Kinney, Ellinghausen & Deshazo in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn Ansardi.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 783053.
