A couple claims that Metairie Country Club destroyed their deck to build fence

GRETNA — A couple is seeking damages after a country club allegedly destroyed their deck while attempting to install a fence.

Glenn W. Hayes Jr. and Elizabeth Schnare Hayes filed a suit on April 23 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Metairie Country Club, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs are seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on April 8, 2017 at 522 Woodvine Ave. in Metairie. The suit claims that the defendant began to build a fence to separate their properties. The defendant then allegedly destroyed the plaintiffs' wooden deck in order to accommodate the new fence. The defendants allegedly have failed to compensate the plaintiffs for their alleged damages.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiffs are represented by Deborah A. Villio of LeBlanc Fantaci Villio LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 783031.
