Louisiana State University claims that Orleans Parish man owes it more than $2,000

NEW ORLEANS — A university is seeking more than $2,000 in sums due.

The Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors through Louisiana State University filed a lawsuit on May 2 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against James Arness Brown, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account in the balance of $2,422.30, plus interest, claiming that the defendant was negligent in paying off the balance due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
