Nunez Community College claims that it is owed more than $1,000

NEW ORLEANS — A community college is seeking more than $1,000 from a Louisiana resident.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Nunez Community College filed a lawsuit on May 16 against Dionne Weary in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account in the balance of $1,004.62, plus interest, claiming that the defendant has failed to pay off her alleged debt.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Anthony D. Winters of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
