AT&T claims car accident caused damage to telecommunications crossbox

GRETNA – AT&T is seeking damages after a car accident involving an alleged reckless driver led to a collision with a telecommunications crossbox owed by the company.

Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC, doing business as AT&T Louisiana, filed a lawsuit June 9 against Zachary Theriot and Geico Casualty Co, in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence and reckless driving.

According to the complaint, the accident in question took place on June 25, 2017 when Theriot allegedly failed to obey traffic laws and struck another woman's vehicle, causing her to hit and damage the crossbox and related equipment.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. It is represented by Michael Alker of Alker & Rather LLC in Mandeville.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald Rowan Jr.
