Northwestern State claims former student owes over $4,000

NEW ORLEANS – A  university is seeking damages for an open account of more than $4,000.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through Northwestern State University filed a lawsuit June 11 against Kayla M. Collins in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account in the balance of $4,025.30, claiming that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance due.

The defendant is accused of open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge D. Nicole Sheppard.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-5789.
